Divine Brown - Lay it on the Line
As I viewed this music video I found that this was definitely something sweet and had that old school feeling to it. The story line is a simple cute love story, where the guy had his first love but was fooled. And a girl who was interested in him, but he didn't really notice her as she watched him get fooled by the girl that he loved. At the end they both ended up with mutual feelings. As I looked at this video I couldn't help but make comparisons to today's videos. In today's society the videos are found with suggestive themes. It leaves a sort of feeling of, "Wow. What happened?" The video I find is just as entertaining and amusing than all the other music videos I have seen today. I find that what the directors/creators were portraying was just to show any normal sort of love stories that happen in everyday lives of thousands of people. That there is happiness at the end for one who has gone through painful things and that anyone can find love and is loved no matter what. This music video also presents the feeling of love and is very well in fact in line with Christian values, showing that people share their love with one another. I have also thought that maybe the director was influenced/inspired by maybe his own love story between how he had met his girlfriend/wife, or just by the lyrics. I really love the meaningful and well thought out lyrics, it is indeed relate able to all audiences. And I just love to listen to her strong yet soothing voice. The video as well with the dancing and all the little things like the simple one setting throughout the whole music video is nice and calming. I like this music video because of its simplicity yet still able to leave a great impact on many people.
I agree with this post. Music videos now a days are very hard to enjoy due to the fact that they don't represent any meaning with the song.
